About this game
How to name an interval
An interval is the distance between two notes, counted in letter names and including both ends. C up to D is a 2nd, C to E is a 3rd, C to F is a 4th.
On the staff, a 2nd is a line and the next space. A 3rd is line to line or space to space. A 4th is a line and the space two steps along, and a 5th is line to line with a line in between.
Why read intervals instead of single notes
Good sight readers don't name every note. They find the first one, then read the shape: a step, a skip, a leap. Practising intervals trains your eyes to see distance instead of letters.
This game only asks for the size (3rd, 5th). Major, minor and perfect come later.
